Defense Metals Corp. (DEFN:TSX.V; DFMTF:OTC; 35D:FSEQB) announced in a news release that the final two holes of the recently finished 2019 drill program at its Wicheeda rare earth elements (REEs) project in Canada intersected light rare earth oxide (LREO) mineralization. The LREOs are cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, praseodymium and samarium oxides.

'With the release of our last two holes of the 2019 Wicheeda REE Deposit drill campaign we continue to establish the potential for expansion of the Wicheeda REE Deposit. Significant REE mineralization occurs within WI19-32 our northernmost drill hole completed on the project to date, which is both open north and at depth,' CEO and President Chris Taylor said in the release.

Specifically, the northernmost hole drilled in the Wicheeda deposit, WI19-32, demonstrated 'significant mineralization' that remains open to the north and at depth,' Taylor noted. It returned 4.01% LREO over 58m of drill core within a broader mineralized zone showing 3.63% LREO over a 75m drill core interval. Also, an upper mineralized intercept returned 2.71% LREO over a drill core interval of 28m.

Hole WI19-30, also drilled in the northern section, hit a broad zone of mineralization, assays for which included 2.59% LREO over a 130.8 meter (130.8m) interval of drill core, including 4.43% LREO over 27m of core.

The now finished, 2019 Wicheeda resource definition drill program consisted of 13 diamond drill holes totaling 2,005m, which tested the deposit's northern, southern and western areas.
