The Dazzler deposit is less than 15 kilometres from the Brown Range Pilot Plant on the edge of a small scarp slope.

Northern Minerals Ltd's (ASX:NTU) reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Dazzler and Iceman deposits has highlighted a new rare earths target area within the Browns Range project in Western Australia.

At Dazzler, the program was mostly exploration drilling southeast of the deposit towards the Iceman prospect, with a further two infill drill holes completed.

Anomalous portable XRF (pXRF) measurements of yttrium were recorded from several drill holes.

Northern Minerals’ managing director George Bank said: “These pXRF results continue to highlight the wide, high-grade nature of the Dazzler mineralisation.

“The use of pXRF as a preliminary assay tool allows us to modify and update the drilling program in real time as required.

“We confirmed the technique in earlier studies as a detector of mineralisation and continue to see the benefits.

“As a high-grade deposit, we are highly motivated to increase the size of mineral resources in this area as a source of ore for many years to come.”

There were no substantial pXRF measurements of yttrium from the five RC drill holes completed at Iceman prospect.

The RC drilling to the southeast of Dazzler and northwest of Iceman highlighted a new target area, with three drill holes intersecting zones with anomalous pXRF measurements of yttrium.

Diamond drilling has also begun with one diamond drill hole planned at iceman and three at Dazzler, one of which is for metallurgical test work.

The maiden inferred mineral resource for the Dazzler deposit has been estimated at 144,000 tonnes at 2.23% total rare earth oxides (TREO) comprising 3,2 million kilograms TREO using a cut-off grade of 0.15% TREO.
