About the company

Aclara Resources Inc is a rare earths company with a development project in Chile.

The company has developed an extraction process called Circular Mineral Harvesting, that no other mining company can claim to have: it uses no explosives, no crushing, no milling and it does not produce any liquid residues. No tailings dam is required in its process.

Furthermore, it recycles approximately 95% of the water used, as well as 99% of its main reagent; a common fertilizer.

How it is doing

20 Dec 2023

Aclara Resources Inc (TSX:ARA, OTC:ARAAF) announced that 25 tons of ionic clays extracted from the company’s Carina Module rare earth deposit in Brazil have arrived at its pilot plant in Chile where they will be used to produce heavy rare earth carbonate samples.

The company said it will kick off the piloting operation at the end of the month and complete the process by the end of February 2024.

The piloting aims to assess the compatibility of the company's patented Circular Mineral Harvesting technology with the Carina Module ionic clays on a semi-industrial scale while revalidating the environmental attributes of the process.

The company highlighted that in the Circular Mineral Harvesting process, 95% of the water and 99% of the primary reagent deployed in the extraction process are recycled.

The vast landscape of Brazil holds hidden treasure crucial to modern technology – rare earth elements.

According to the US Geological Survey, Brazil boasts the world's third-largest reserves of rare earths, standing at a staggering 21 million tonnes. This places the country behind only China and Vietnam in this critical resource. However, despite its potential, Brazil's rare earth industry is currently in a state of dormancy, producing only a fraction of what it could contribute to the global market.

12 Dec 2023

Aclara Resources Inc (TSX:ARA, OTC:ARAAF) has announced a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) for its regolith-hosted ion adsorption clay project in Brazil, known as the Carina Module, which showed an initial Inferred mineral resource of 168 million tonnes with a grade of 1,510 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxide (TREO) and 477 ppm desorbable rare earth oxide (DREO).

The heavy rare earth resource project developer said the average net smelter return (NSR) value of the resource is US$32.3 per tonne when using a cut-off value of US$7.4 per tonne.

What management says

20 Dec 2023

Aclara Resources Chief Operating Officer Barry Murphy joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share significant news that the company has successfully received a 25-tonne shipment of ionic clays extracted from its Carina Module deposit in Brazil, which has been transported to its fully-owned pilot plant facility in Chile. Murphy provided details on the company's plans for the pilot operation and what they aim to achieve during this crucial phase. According to Murphy, the primary objective of the piloting operation is to assess the compatibility of Aclara's patented Circular Mineral Harvesting technology with the Carina Module ionic clays on a semi-industrial scale.

This technology is designed to produce a premium heavy rare earths carbonate product. The company also intends to initiate discussions with potential separators and other commercial stakeholders to explore future partnerships or opportunities in the rare earths market. During the piloting campaign, Aclara Resources will also evaluate any process flowsheet modifications that may be required, as well as revalidate the Circular Mineral Harvesting methodology. One notable aspect of this methodology is its sustainability, with approximately 95% of the water and 99% of the primary reagent used in the extraction process being recycled.
