ABx Finds Even Higher Concentration of Rare Earth Elements At Deep Leads Bauxite Project

Australian Bauxite Limited (ABx) announced this week yet another record high result in its testing for Rare Earth Elements (REE) at its DL130 bauxite ore deposit in northern Tasmania.

Per the firm, the results from the latest testing yielded the highest grades of four “super magnet” REEs, including a high concentration of neodymium oxide (Nd2O3). Current testing levels have the site at 1,878 ppm total rare earth oxides (TREO).

Testing at the site also revealed a layer of bedrock that subsequent testing must penetrate to achieve more readings. Therefore, specialized drilling technology will soon be brought in that will efficiently drill through mineralized clays, wet clays, clay-broken rock mixture, and harder bedrock.

Per the testing, the thickness of this REE zone is at least three meters (9.8’) thick, while the strike length is over 3.25 km (2 miles).

ABx Exploration Manager Paul Glover said in a related press release that testing at the site will continue with better technology going forward.

“As Covid travel restrictions ease, we can introduce new technologies for this REE exploration project, including high resolution geophysics to map the groundwater channels that host the best REE exploration targets and a multi-purpose drill rig to reveal the full thickness and geology of the mineralised zones.”

“We await the granting of our new Exploration License application that covers several attractive REE targets that exist to the east of our current Deep Leads discovery,” he concluded.

Based in Sydney, ABx conducts operations in Tasmania, Queensland, and New South Wales. The firm boasts combined JORC resources of 124 million metric tons in twenty-two tenements covering almost two thousand square kilometers in Eastern Australia. Its Binjour tenement in Queensland is considered by the company to be its flagship project.
