来源:ACS PublicationsThe search for rare-earth triangular-lattice antiferromagnets continues to attract considerable attention owing to their potential for hosting exotic magnetic ground states. Here, we report the synthesis, crystal structure, and magnetic properties of the tellurate series, K3RETe2O9 (RE = Pr, Nd, and Gd–Yb), which crystallizes in a hexagonal (P63/mmc) structure. In the structure, the RE3+ ions form a large triangular lattice in the ab plane, with nearest-neighbor RE–RE distances ranging from 6.0429 to 5.9082 Å. Magnetization measurements reveal dominant antiferromagnetic...

来源:ACS PublicationsAnhydrous, donor-free rare earth iodides are key precursors for rare earth chemistry and functional materials, but their scalable synthesis is challenging because these salts are extremely sensitive to air and moisture. In addition, most established routes rely on toxic, corrosive, or otherwise nonbenign reagents. Here, we report a ZnI2-mediated solid-state route to rare earth iodides in which ZnI2 acts simultaneously as the iodide source and oxidant, enabling a simple and scalable preparation. This approach leverages the good safety profile and low melting point of ZnI2 and...

来源:ACS PublicationsKinetic resolution polymerization (KRP) of nonpolar conjugated dienes remains a significant challenge because of their flexible coordination modes and subtle reactivity differences between isomers. Herein, we report that by fine-tuning ligand steric environments and metal centers, the KRP of naturally occurring (E,Z)-β-ocimene (E/Z-Oc) was successfully realized by using catalysts 1 and 5 to afford a stereoregular E-homopolymer while simultaneously isolating a Z-isomer with high purity (95.5%). Moreover, complex 1 enabled to polymerize Z-Oc in highly isotactic trans-1,4 selec...

来源:ACS PublicationsPropyl gallate (PG) poses a potential threat to human health through dietary exposure. Herein, Eu3+/Y3+ was combined with dual ligands and biomass-derived nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (N-CDs) to synthesize multicomponent rare-earth metal–organic gels (N-CDs@Eu0.05Y0.95-DL-MOGs), achieving electrochemiluminescence (ECL) and fluorescence (FL) visual detection of PG. The dual ligands as antenna molecules collectively displace H2O coordination, which sensitizes Eu3+ via energy transfer. Theoretical calculations indicated that Y3+ regulates the molecular orbital energy leve...
