来源:ACS PublicationsTo enhance the upconversion luminescence (UCL) of small-sized nanoparticles, core–shell nanostructures are employed to effectively isolate emitting ions from surface quenchers. However, the synthesis of such structures is frequently compromised by cation intermixing, a result of core dissolution during shell growth. This unintended ion diffusion undermines the passivation function of the inert shell, as emitting ions relocated near surface defects contribute to nonradiative energy loss, thus diminishing luminescence enhancement. This detrimental effect is especially severe f...

来源:ACS PublicationsHalide solid state electrolytes (SSEs) have gained substantial attention due to their excellent ionic conductivity. However, their interfacial compatibility has been severely criticized. In this work, we synthesized a series of pliable LiCl-[LaCl3–CeCl3-(2-x)GaF3-xAlF3–TaCl5]0.2 SSEs with UCl3 structure to realize excellent cathode/anode interfacial compatibility while ensuring high ionic conductivity. They possess the ionic conductivity up to 1.54 mS cm–1, such excellent ionic conductivity originates mainly from the fast Li+ transport routes in the highly plastic amorphous ...

The Optimization of the Luminescence Intensity Ratio in the YVO4:Er3+,Nd3+ Phosphors within the First and Second Biological Windows 来源:ACS PublicationsThe optimization of the host materials is one of the methods that could be used to improve the relative sensitivity of luminescent thermometers. Here, we show the host optimization emission of Er3+ and Nd3+ ions in the YVO4 phosphors produced by a modified sol–gel route using glucose as a polymerizing agent. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was realized to analyze the formation of the crystalline phase. We found that the emission ratio depends on the siz...

来源:ACS PublicationsIn the pyrochemical reprocessing of used nuclear fuel, understanding the effects of ionizing radiation on the chemical behavior of fission products in molten chloride eutectic salt is crucial. This study investigates the impact of radiation on the chemical and kinetic speciation of Nd ions in molten LiCl-KCl eutectic, which are challenging to separate due to their multivalent oxidation states and comproportionation reactions. Electron pulse radiolysis techniques were used to determine transient absorption spectra, chemical kinetics, and activation parameters for the reaction...
