Magnetic and Magnetocaloric Properties of YbVO3 Single Crystals Experiments and DFT Calculations 来源:ACS PublicationsIn this paper, we mainly focus on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of YbVO3 single crystals grown by the floating-zone method. The crystals present several phase transitions close to 104, 65, and 20 K involving mainly the vanadium sublattice. Particularly, the complex electronic and magnetic structures of YbVO3 result in interesting thermal effects over a wide range of temperatures including a large inverse magnetocaloric effect close to 60 K. In fact, the maximum ...

Interfacial Engineering of a NaGdF4@NaYF4Nd3+-Reinforced PVAChitosan Janus Hydrogel for Osteosarcoma and Osseointegration via the Entrapment of Strontium in Bisphosphonates来源:ACS PublicationsPostoperative impacts after osteosarcoma excision such as tumor recurrence and critical-sized bone defects continue to pose significant therapeutic challenges. Conventional implants employed to treat these defects often pose negligence in eliminating the residual tumor cells. The current study aims to address these constraints through the development of a multifunctional Janus hydrogel. An alendronate stro...

来源:ACS PublicationsThis study investigates single-crystal structures of Lu3+/erythritol and nine rare earth–glycerol complexes, revealing deprotonation of normally inert OH groups via μ2-bridging (so-called DIOμ2 phenomenon). The pH drops upon alditol addition correlate with the deprotonation extent, showing increased deprotonation with decreasing lanthanide ionic radius (lanthanide contraction) and exceptionally high deprotonation for Sc3+. In all the rare earth/alditol complexes with the DIOμ2 phenomenon, two μ2-bridges merge into an M2O2 cluster (M is a rare earth ion) that is not very stab...

来源:ACS PublicationsFacilitating different chemistries between the rare earth (RE = La–Lu, Sc, Y) ions is of significant interest for their separations. While the bulk of attention has been on maximizing the small differences in their ground state chemistry, interest is beginning to shift toward the differences in their electronic excited states. In this work, we demonstrate modulation of the photostationary state of an azobenzene derivative, Na1, via chelation to a series of REIIIDO3A (DO3A = 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7-triacetic acid) complexes. The extent of photoisomerization of 1–...
